Ph.D. program of national  interest in Robotics and Intelligent Machines

To enhance the skills and competencies in Robotics and Intelligent  Machines distributed throughout the country, create fertile synergies  between disciplines, universities, research institutions, and  companies, and consolidate the excellent Italian positioning on the  international scene, a unifying cultural project is necessary.

This cultural project is carried out by the Ph.D. program of national  interest in Robotics and Intelligent Machines (DRIM).

DRIM brings together all the research and training areas aimed at  studying, developing, and constructing innovative robotic systems and intelligent machines. The objective is to form a large community of  students who develop their research themes in a shared context, integrated on a geographic, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary scale.

The strategic objective is to pave the way to the largest doctoral  school in the world in these cultural areas, which capitalizes on the  leadership of Italian research at an international level, projecting  it into the future and enabling technology transfer to companies by  promoting the recruitment of students trained in innovation.

To share the research skills and competencies distributed throughout  the territory, reaching a critical mass never experienced at an  international level, DRIM envisages the establishment of a consortium  between universities and highly qualified research institutions.  Accordingly, the Host Institutions where students carry out their  research activity will be coordinated by one Host Institution chosen  as the Administrative Headquarters of the Ph.D. program.
